Hi, I am Eric Djenge, MD. I am board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and have extensive training in Functional Medicine. I am currently working on my Functional Medicine certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine. I graduated with high honors from Ross University School of Medicine and completed my residency training at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. I am passionate and committed to empowering individuals’ to take back their health. By addressing the underlying causes of disease, I have the ability to improve or reverse disease so that you can get back to living your full potential. I believe that we all have the ability to reclaim our health and vitality, are you ready?
I have personally experienced the power food has on our biological systems. During my college years, I became depressed, run down and had an incredible sugar addiction. Some days, I did not have the energy to get out of bed. At this point, I was 20 pounds heavier and developed hypertension. I was sent to see Hematology/Oncology for possible Lymphoma. I ended up getting a bone marrow biopsy which showed I had an iron deficiency anemia. Nutrition became a passion. I began to see the power of food and its influence on hormones, inflammation as well as the intricate connection between food and our genes.
When I’m not seeing patients, you can find me spending time with my family. My favorite activities are cycling, running, snow skiing, and competing in endurance events. My aspirations include learning to play guitar and completing an Ironman Triathlon.
